February Prayer Update
Reminder: First Sunday Prayer will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 8:30 AM in the Chapel!
2018 is off to a great start here at Timber Creek Church! We began the New Year with 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting from January 10th-30th. Many of you tried fasting for the first time. Many of you fasted for the first time in a long time. Together, we fasted in different ways, holding different focuses and hopes in our hearts, making various commitments and goals as we entered this new year. Together, as a church family, we started the year right by putting God first and ensuring that Jesus is and continues to be the center of our lives, our homes, our careers, our church. Thank you for joining us in this powerful time of fasting and seeking God!
Our prayer is that each of you experienced God in a special or even a new way during your time of fasting and prayer in the month of January. You may have seen God move in your life and situation almost immediately or slowly over the duration of your fast. Maybe you saw prayers answered as your fast came to an end. Thank God for what He has done and what He is continuing to do!
Maybe you are still waiting on the answer you’ve been seeking. Know that God is working and moving behind the scenes, even when you are unable to see what He is doing. Continue to seek Him, trust Him wholeheartedly, and thank Him in advance knowing that He will do what only He can do in His perfect timing.
Be encouraged by God’s words on fasting in Isaiah 58:6-9, 11-12 NIRV:
6“‘Here is the way I want you to fast.
“Set free those who are held by chains without any reason.
Untie the ropes that hold people as slaves.
Set free those who are crushed.
Break every evil chain.
7 Share your food with hungry people.
Provide homeless people with a place to stay.
Give naked people clothes to wear.
Provide for the needs of your own family.
8 Then the light of my blessing will shine on you like the rising sun.
I will heal you quickly.
I will march out ahead of you.
And my glory will follow behind you and guard you.
That’s because I always do what is right.
9 You will call out to me for help.
And I will answer you.
You will cry out.
And I will say, ‘Here I am.’…
11 I will always guide you.
I will satisfy your needs in a land baked by the sun.
I will make you stronger.
You will be like a garden that has plenty of water.
You will be like a spring whose water never runs dry.
12 Your people will rebuild the cities that were destroyed long ago.
And you will build again on the old foundations.
You will be called One Who Repairs Broken Walls.
You will be called One Who Makes City Streets Like New Again.’”
Whether you have received or are waiting on God's answers, know that He is not finished yet. He is at work continually in each of us. We encounter God as we offer ourselves to Him daily in glad surrender and trustful obedience!
Please continue to join us in prayer over the areas listed to the right. Thank you for your continued prayers for and with Timber Creek Church!
